Currently weighing some choices for lodging for late Spring. This decision will likely impact the friends we’re traveling with, so the pressure is on.
Drury
As a midwesterner, my first go-to hotel of choice is Drury. It’s definitely the McDonalds of hotels… so predictable, you know what you’re getting every single time. It’s no 5-star lodging, but it’s always clean, and every stay comes with continental breakfast, complementary happy hour drinks and snacks… no bells and whistles, but just what you need.

Hilton
Some friends we’re traveling with have Hilton rewards and have already booked a Hilton room near to the wedding in the burbs we’ll be attending. Now that the friends group wants to stay “downtown” assuming it would be more fun, the question becomes, do we book a Hilton hotel with hopes that they’ll move their reservation? I’m personally not attached to Hilton hotels.

Somewhere else entirely
After some research about the cultural districts of Indianapolis, would it be more fun to stay in a different part of the city entirely? I personally like to explore the local parts of a new city… the areas that if I were a local I would want to frequent, not just “must see” tourist traps. There are a lot of districts hovering around the downtown area… and then there’s that lonely Broad Ripple Village Association. It’s almost calling out to me.

Something edgy
Here’s a place that I would love to stay if money were no object. We’re looking at $257 per night according to google’s estimate. If this were the only trip I had this summer I’d be all in. But I’m not sure if I want to be out of pocket for such a cool room I don’t intend to spend much time in. Also, I don’t think I could convince my friends to stay here, so it would be just us returning here by ourselves at the end of the day. It would be a waste. But a girl can dream.

The decision is yet to come, but we definitely need to book soon!
